Varian engineering has released a new web service that lets developers interact with Aria Dynamic Documents for version 11.

See page 10 of the Aria 11 MR 2 & 3 customer release note:
"This version introduces an API for customers to utilize with the Documents product. This API uses a web service to allow users to insert documents from another source to the Aria application or query Aria for exporting patient documents."

Hi Wayne,
Are these documents are still available in the myvarian sites? Having some trouble with getting them. Also, our clinical system is V11 MR1. Does that mean this service is not available?
Thanks.

Hi Jinkoo,

Thanks for the feedback. Varian recently reworked the MyVarian site; and we Varian employees are temporarily not able to see external links so I can't check these.

The documents are still in MyVarian. I cannot give you a link though so you'll have to search: Click "Product Documentation", then Product = Aria Radiation Oncology, Doc Type "Manuals", Version = "11", and you will see :

Varian Document Service User Guide Oct. 2012 Manuals 100061927-01 11.0
Varian ARIA Document Service Installation Instructions and Configuration Guide Oct. 2012 Manuals 100061926-01 11.0

Please check with your Varian service personnel about version compatibility and request an installation through them.

Thanks,
Wayne

It works very well, Wayne. On V11 MR1. I was able to list, export, and insert documents without any problem. This is excellent API!
Thanks.

Seppo demonstrates use of the Documents API in the new "RBEReport" project he uploaded.

See his article explaining the project.

Is it possible to sign/approve and existing document with the API? I see where I can set a document I am inserting as signed.

The only thing I can conceive of currently is getting the document, erroring it out, then reinserting it signed. This is not a process I want to explore and am hoping there is something straight forward.
