Problem with compiling example scripts with Visual Studio 2013

Mar 16 at 9:32 PM
This may be a novice question. I'm having trouble compiling the Varian example scripts with Visual Studio 2013. The following message pops on screen:

A project with an Output Type of Class Library cannot be started directly.

If the output type is changed to Windows application or Console application the the following error shows up:

Program '...\Example_DVH.esapi.exe' does not contain a static 'Main' method suitable for an entry point.

Has anyone else run into this problem? any help is appreciated.

There are two kinds of scripts: standalones and plug-ins. Of the example scripts, Example_Patients is standalone. That you can run from Visual Studio.

The other example scripts are plug-ins. You compile them in Visual Studio, but then run Eclipse, and select Tools - Scripts, and browse to the Plugins-folder where the .esapi.dll or .cs file is, and launch it.
